Symantec: 90% of global e-mail as spam

Computer security vendor Symantec (Symantec) report released Monday, show that in all e-mail, spam has reached the proportion of 90.4 percent. And April to 5 months, this proportion will rise by 5.1 percentage points.

Symantec released the May 2009 MessageLabs Intelligence report also shows that several other trends: the past, only less well-known site hijacked different network elements is now more inclined to have some visibility through the old website to disseminate malicious software; as a result of social networks, the majority of user-generated content and, therefore, become one of the most vulnerable one of the sites.

The report also shows the most likely to receive spam time. For example, the United States of spam a day peak appears in the 9 o'clock to 10 points, followed by a sudden decline. Europe are relatively stable throughout the day. Asia-Pacific region spam was seen in the morning. The report said that the reason why this happens, mainly because of spammers in the United States, the most active working hours.
